A Mosaic Built Together

Türkiye Mozaik Foundation began in 2017 in London with just eight people and a shared wish to give back. What started as a small idea has grown into a vibrant community built on care, trust, and a belief in civil society, with thousands of donors from the UK and around the world each adding a new piece to our shared mosaic.

Together, we’ve distributed £4,9 million through 307 grants to 198 civil society organisations, touching the lives of over 900,000 people in 34 cities across Türkiye. None of this happened alone. Every donor, grantee partner, and supporter has helped shape what Türkiye Mozaik Foundation is today.

What We’ve Achieved Together

Over the years, your support has reached children seeking safe spaces to learn and grow; women and LGBTI+ individuals fighting for equality and freedom from violence; communities responding to earthquakes, wildfires, displacement, and a global pandemic; artists creating space for expression; environmental organisations protecting land and sea; grassroots sports initiatives opening doors for girls and underrepresented groups; and organisations caring for stray and wild animals.

Across all our work, we have prioritised local knowledge, flexibility, and long-term resilience—standing with civil society not only in moments of crisis, but also in the quieter, ongoing work of change.

Below, you can explore the different fields where this collective effort has taken shape. Each area reflects how your support has met real needs, in real communities, over the past eight years.

Children's Rights

Children’s well-being has been central to our work from the start. Through 74 grants totalling over £1,4 million, our support has helped more children stay in school, access safe learning spaces, and receive psychosocial support after violence, abuse, or disaster. It has enabled children to play, learn, and heal in environments where they feel protected, listened to, and supported—while helping organisations work together to respond more effectively to children’s needs.

Across Türkiye, we have supported women’s and LGBTI+ organisations working for safety, equality, and dignity. Through 64 grants totalling £1,3 million, our support has helped survivors of violence access legal and psychosocial support, strengthened awareness around gender equality and sexual and reproductive health, and enabled women and LGBTI+ individuals to organise, advocate, and claim their rights—both locally and nationally.

We believe culture and arts create connection, belonging, and space to imagine change. Through 40 grants totalling £625,000, our support has helped more people access cultural spaces, enabled underrepresented artists—especially women, queer, and migrant communities—to produce and share their work, and supported collaborations that keep cultural memory alive through exhibitions, performances, and digital archives.

Our environmental grants support local action to protect nature and strengthen community resilience. Through 68 grants totalling over £430,000, including the Turquoise Coast Environment Fund, we have helped safeguard ecosystems, support sustainable farming, reduce waste, and advance climate action and environmental rights. We have also extended environmental funding to earthquake-affected regions, supporting ecological recovery and restoration in places where environmental needs are often overlooked.

Since 2020, we have stood with communities facing crisis. Through 132 emergency grants totalling £3,8 million, our support has helped local organisations deliver urgent aid after earthquakes and wildfires, respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, and support people affected by displacement. These grants have enabled access to food, shelter, psychosocial care, protection services, and livelihoods—reaching hundreds of thousands of people at critical moments.

To help organisations continue their work beyond project cycles, we have provided over £500,000 in core funding through 87 grants. This flexible support has helped cover essential costs such as staff salaries, rent, travel, and capacity building, alongside tailored mentoring—strengthening organisational resilience and long-term impact.

Launched in 2025, the Sports Giving Circle supports equal and inclusive access to sports for children and underrepresented groups. In its first funding cycle, grants helped girls take part in football, sailing, outdoor sports, and floor curling; improved access for children with disabilities; and provided equipment and transport—ensuring more children, including those in earthquake-affected regions, could experience the confidence and belonging that sport can bring.

Animal welfare has been a priority for us since our early years. In 2024, we deepened this commitment by launching the Animal Rights Fund, supporting grassroots organisations to improve shelter conditions, share knowledge, and build more humane, sustainable systems of care.

More Than Funding

This journey has always been shaped by people. Friends of Mozaik, donors, and supporters have hosted various gatherings and fundraisers year after year, turning generosity into collective action and helping our work reach further than funding alone.

The past eight years have not been easy for Türkiye or for civil society. But they have shown us, again and again, what is possible when people come together with care and commitment. Through challenge and change, we’ve remained stubbornly optimistic, because this mosaic keeps growing.

To everyone who has been part of Türkiye Mozaik Foundation over the past eight years: thank you. You are not just supporters of this work, you are its foundation. And every piece you bring helps us continue, together.
