Donor-Advised Grants

Our Approach

At Türkiye Mozaik Foundation, we understand the importance of addressing the causes that matter most to our donors. Our Donor-Advised Fund empowers you to play a direct role in shaping the impact of your contributions by recommending civil society organisations (CSOs) or specific projects for funding.

This fund allows our donors and board members to bring forward suggestions for organisations or initiatives they are passionate about. Each recommendation is carefully reviewed by our team and discussed by our board, applying the same rigorous selection criteria we use for all our grantees. Once approved, these CSOs are supported through Türkiye Mozaik Foundation’s resources and expertise.

Mino’s Song: Award-Winning Educational Resource

Mimoza Child Studies Team (Mimoza Çocuk Çalışmaları) used grant support to create much-needed educational content for children. The resulting website, the video of Mino’s Song, and other materials were a success, with many teachers, educators, and child psychologists sharing the material in educational settings and on social media. Mino’s Song, with over 900,000 views on YouTube, also won the 2021 “Social Work Practice of the Year” Award in Türkiye.

How it Works

This fund is ideal for those who want to support a cause they are passionate about but may lack the resources or infrastructure to do so effectively. We will be in constant contact with the grantee to report back to you on the impact of your contribution.

By working with Türkiye Mozaik Foundation, you ensure your contributions are directed responsibly and create a lasting impact. This personalised approach provides you with the opportunity to take an active role in supporting civil society in Türkiye.

If there is a civil society organisation or project you’d like to recommend or would like to learn more about how the Donor-Advised Fund works, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can make a difference!

Grants in Action

Colourful Hopes Association (Rengarenk Umutlar Derneği-RUMUD) received a grant, provided with the support of the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal on the occasion of the Türkiye-Scotland match played in Diyarbakır on 16.11.2022. With this support, RUMUD held a series of workshops in Diyarbakır for 60 children. The grant was used to cover the costs of the end-of-semester event and exhibition (books, stationery, food, travel, musical instruments, cameras, and costumes), and the facilitators’ expenses.

Deep Poverty Network (Derin Yoksulluk Ağı) used the grant support to provide single mothers living in deep poverty with food, hygiene products, and financial support for eight months. The women also received social counselling which included home visits to assess needs and referrals for access to education, employment, psychosocial support, and healthcare. Seven interactive workshops on fundamental rights were held to inform and empower women.

Senex | Association for Aging Studies (Senex | Yaşlanma Çalışmaları Derneği), monitored media coverage and documented cases of violence, rights violations, and discrimination against older people. Monthly reports were shared, including a dedicated section on the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes’ impact. Their report, “Violence, Abuse and Neglect of Older People in Türkiye,” gained official recognition from the UN and was presented at the 54th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
