Other Funds

In addition to our core thematic programs, Türkiye Mozaik Foundation offers special funds designed to address specific issues or opportunities not covered by our main categories. These funds reflect our commitment to adaptability and inclusivity, supporting impactful civil society projects across a broader spectrum.

Meltem Gocer Fund

In memory of our beloved friend, we established the Meltem Göçer Fund in August 2019. We are grateful to be the recipient of valuable contributions from her family and friends who cherished her life and thankful to her family for choosing to support our mission which Meltem found close to her heart. To date, the fund has provided grants to the below five civil society organisations.

The Association of Visually Impaired in Education’s “Accessible Notes,” expanding an online music library for the visually impaired with over 2,870 classic Turkish music pieces in Braille format. The fund supported the Music for Peace Foundation, which established a Youth Choir and collaborated with the Leipzig Opera Children’s Choir to foster musical talent collaboration among 57 students during the pandemic.

The Science Heroes Association’s “Girls Meet With Science” project was supported twice by the fund. This enabled all-girl teams from underserved schools to participate in FIRST LEGO League Jr., fostering STEM skills and equitable opportunities. The Local Development Association’s project introduced an innovative education model benefiting 60 seasonal agricultural worker students, ensuring access to educational materials and crucial academic milestones.

The Association for Young People under State Protection and Foster Families used the grant to strengthen its financial sustainability, diversifying income sources through sales, collaborations, and capacity-building efforts. The association also started the construction of the KALBEN Children’s Village for children under legal protection.

Through these endeavours, the Meltem Göçer Fund continues to honour Meltem’s legacy, making impactful changes in children’s rights, education, and accessibility.

Digital Transformation Fund

The Digital Transformation Fund aims to support the digital transformation journeys of civil society organisations by offering grants and capacity development support. The fund was launched in 2021 in collaboration with the Support Foundation for Civil Society (Sivil Toplum için Destek Vakfı) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). In this first cycle, we supported five organisations focused on environmental sustainability by facilitating their digital transformation, through our Environmental Sustainability Fund.

In 2023, the Digital Transformation Fund aimed to support organisations responding to the aftermath of the Kahramanmaras earthquakes, striving to mitigate the impact and assist survivors in rebuilding their lives, and granted a total of 1,440,000 TL to nine organisations.

Deep Poverty Action Fund

Launched in 2021, the Deep Poverty Action Fund aims to combat deep poverty and growing inequalities in Türkiye, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund has supported two initiatives to date.

In its first year, the fund supported the Mobile Food Bank project, a collaboration between the Deep Poverty Network and the Basic Needs Association, to provide critical food and hygiene aid to families in deep poverty in Istanbul. A van was purchased to serve as a mobile food bank, delivering 1,360 parcels of food, hygiene products, and clothing, along with 10,100 free meals to primary school students across Çekmeköy, Karagümrük, and Sancaktepe neighbourhoods over eight months. The project also conducted interviews with 380 households to assess needs, offered consultations, and made referrals to support mechanisms to mitigate risks and ensure access to rights.

In its second year, the fund awarded a core grant to the Deep Poverty Network to strengthen its advocacy capacity and financial sustainability. The network developed an advocacy strategy, raised awareness about rights violations faced by those living in deep poverty, and engaged politicians through field visits in Istanbul and data collection. Key outputs included an information note titled “Women’s and Children’s Poverty in Türkiye,” and a detailed report on hygiene poverty. Members also participated in TV and radio programs to share their findings and worked to diversify their funding sources.

Foster Family Fund

The Foster Family Fund aims to support civil society organisations that promote adoption and foster family models in Türkiye. Our primary goal is to ensure that children and young individuals under state protection are given the chance to prepare for life within safe and loving family environments and grow under family-based care.

The fund was initiated in 2023 in cooperation with the Support Foundation for Civil Society (Sivil Toplum için Destek Vakfı), KRM Yönetim Danışmanlık, and Merve Üretmen. In its first year, a total of 371,500 TL in grants was allocated to the Istanbul Foster Care Association and the Denizli Foster Care Association.

Dr Hülya Karadoğan Fund

The Dr Hülya Karadoğan Fund was established in 2022, to honour Dr Hülya Karadoğan’s lifelong dedication to children’s health, education, culture & the arts, gender equality, and youth development. So far, the fund has awarded grants to two projects:

With grant support, the Theatre Cooperative worked to improve the accessibility of private theatre venues and activities for people with disabilities. Through training, awareness-raising, and field visits, they assessed physical accessibility and produced a comprehensive guide to promote dialogue and inclusive practices in theatre. The project also provided valuable insights for future advocacy and implementation of accessibility standards in culture and the arts.

In 2024, the fund supports the Sulukule Volunteers Association in addressing child poverty’s impact on health and social inclusion. The project raises awareness of children’s right to nutritious food through advocacy and a social media campaign, while combating social exclusion with school-based workshops and peer-support activities. Informative workshops for adults will further strengthen family and community support, with all activities monitored to ensure a meaningful impact.
