Thank you for considering hosting a fundraising event in support of Türkiye Mozaik Foundation! Your support is invaluable in helping us continue to contribute to positive social change in Türkiye, and we’re here to help you every step of the way.
Below are some tips and guidelines to help you plan and run a successful fundraising event:
1. Set Your Goals
Set clear and achievable goals for your event. Determine how much you want to raise, as well as any other objectives, such as raising awareness of Türkiye Mozaik Foundation’s mission and initiatives. Your goals will guide the rest of the planning and execution of your event.
2. Choose the Right Type of Event
There are many different types of fundraising events you can hold, ranging from charity dinners and in-person or online auctions to bake sales, raffles and community fairs. Consider your audience and resources, and choose something that matches your interests and can attract participants.
3. Plan Early and Establish a Budget
Start planning well in advance to ensure everything runs smoothly. Building a timeline might help in thinking about key milestones and important deadlines. Create a detailed budget that includes expenses such as venue rental, food, drinks, promotional materials, equipment hire, and any other necessary costs.
Also, consider how much you want to raise to ensure your event is financially viable. Don’t forget that for larger events you may need to notify the relevant local authorities and obtain any necessary permits or licences.
4. Secure Sponsorship and Donations
Contact local businesses, shops, and individuals to secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, or auction items. Highlight the benefits of partnering with your event and the positive exposure they’ll receive.
5. Choose a Date and Venue
Choose a date that doesn’t clash with other major events and ensure the venue is suitable for the type of event you’re hosting. Consider factors such as accessibility, capacity, and ambience when selecting the venue.
6. Promote Your Event
Spread the word about your fundraising event among family, friends, and colleagues through social media, email newsletters and local media outlets. Create engaging content that highlights the purpose of the event, why you’re organising it, and how people can get involved or donate. Highlight the impact of supporting Türkiye Mozaik Foundation and the importance of community involvement.
A “Save the Date” announcement can help you spread the word and give your attendees plenty of time to put the event in their calendars and invite their friends. Don’t forget to tag us on social media.
If you’d like to use our logo in your event’s promotional materials, please contact us so that we can provide you with our logo files. Please be sure to emphasise that you are organising the event “in support of”, not “on behalf of” Türkiye Mozaik Foundation. For any materials containing our logo, please ask for our approval before sharing them publicly.
7. Recruit Volunteers
Enlist the help of friends, family, and community members to assist with various tasks such as event set-up, registration, and promotion. Having a dedicated team of volunteers can greatly reduce the workload, help ensure everything runs smoothly, and make the event more enjoyable for everyone involved.
8. Engage Participants with Activities
Create engaging experiences for your participants to increase their involvement in your fundraising efforts. Include a variety of fundraising activities, such as ticket sales, silent auctions, raffles, or on-site merchandise sales. Consider offering incentives to encourage donations, such as raffle prizes, gift baskets, or recognition for top fundraisers.
Make sure participants understand how their contributions will benefit Türkiye Mozaik Foundation. As offering more than one donation method can maximise your fundraising, consider using tools such as donation QR codes, POS machines/apps (we can help with that!), or mobile bidding platforms or donation apps to make it easy for participants to support your cause.
9. Show Your Appreciation
When your event is over, be sure to thank everyone who contributed in any way, whether through donations, volunteering, or attending. Consider creating a recognition wall or publishing a post-event thank you to express gratitude and encourage continued engagement. A heartfelt thank you goes a long way to showing appreciation.
Make sure you have everyone’s consent for their photos and/or videos to be taken, stored and shared. You should let your participants know where these will be shared and what they will be used for.
10. Share Your Success
Share your fundraising results and successes with us and your community. Maintaining communication helps to nurture relationships and encourage continued support in the future, so keep your donors updated on the impact of their contributions. This will inspire others to get involved or organise their own fundraisers.
By planning and hosting a fundraising event for Türkiye Mozaik Foundation, you’ll not only raise vital funds, but also raise awareness of our cause and bring our community together in support. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help!
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to creating positive change with us.
